Cool air has arrived in North Carolina for Thanksgiving Day.  High temperatures will only warm to the low and mid 50s across most of the state.

An area of low pressure that is making for a soggy Thanksgiving in Florida is also bringing a lot of cloud cover to the Carolinas.  Sky conditions across North Carolina Thursday will range from mostly cloudy near the coast to mostly sunny in the mountains of western North Carolina.

The low over Florida will eventually track off the Carolina coast by Friday.  That could bring a few sprinkles or light showers to the immediate coast from late Thursday afternoon into Friday.  However, most of the state will stay dry from Thanksgiving through the weekend.

A warming trend is forecast for Friday and Saturday. The warmest day of the extended holiday weekend will come Saturday when afternoon highs should top out in the mid 60s.
