WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health is teaching its maternity classes online to give expectant mothers the proper education and training they need before childbirth even during these unusual times.

Novant is teaching maternity, childbirth, and breastfeeding classes online using Zoom, and educators said the feedback has been very positive.

Chelsea Noah is six months pregnant with her first child.

She said it's a scary time to be pregnant, not just because of the pandemic, but because she has so many questions.

She said she really likes the virtual experience.

“You can chat in your questions, and the question only goes to the instructor and so you can feel a little bit more comfortable asking questions that way too,” Noah explained.

She also said you can practice things like labor positions in the comfort of your own home instead of in front of a group of people.

Novant Health may continue with virtual classes after things go back to normal.
