HIGH POINT, N.C. -- The State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-car accident that sent multiple people to the hospital Tuesday night.          

It happened on Highway 311 South, just past the Highway 66 bridge.          

Officials say a car ran off 311 and rear ended a van that was entering the highway causing it to overturn.           

The passenger’s car then caught fire. Six people were taken to the hospital; one in critical condition.
