Warm temperatures made an appearance Wednesday across the Carolinas and Triad. In fact, highs climbed all the way into the 80s!  Not bad. Not bad at all.

However, a fast moving cold front will sweep across the region early Thursday, and behind it much cooler weather will once again take control of the region. Now, despite some clouds and maybe a sprinkle early Thursday morning this front will not produce any significant rain. Furthermore, gusty winds will persist much of the day. Combine the wind and dropping humidity levels by the afternoon and an increased risk for fires is anticipated for the area. So, outdoor burning is not recommended.

Cool days and chilly nights are set for Friday and the weekend. Our next rain opportunity appears to arrive early next workweek.
