A very warm Wednesday is underway today across the Carolinas. Highs today will warm into the upper 70s and lower 80s across the piedmont under a mostly sunny sky. Winds will be gusty out of the southwest, gusting to 25mph or so at times.

With warm conditions, low relative humidity values, and breezy weather in place, the risk of wild fires is increased today. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.

Cooler temperatures return starting tomorrow. Our average high temperature this time of year is in the lower 70s, and I expect highs to run below the average starting tomorrow and extending into much of all of next week.

We are not talking anything overly brutal, but I expect lots of 60s for highs and 30s and 40s for lows.
