GREENVILLE, N.C. -- East Carolina University is extending it's tobacco policy.

• ECU is banning tobacco use within 100 feet of most building.
• Completely banned from health sciences campus.
• Goes into effect July 1. 

Under a new policy, using tobacco products will be banned within 100 feet of most buildings, and banned completely on the health sciences campus. 

The health sciences campus will be one of more than 1,100 tobacco-free campuses nationwide – 47 of which are in North Carolina.

The new policy goes into effect July 1.
