SCOTLAND COUNTY, N.C. – The body that was found in a drained pond in Scotland County has been confirmed to be 4-year-old Raul Gonzalez Johnson.

Officials say the cause of death is drowning.

An Amber Alert was issued when the child went missing last Wednesday. He was found three days later in a pond off Peabridge Road that was drained.

More than a dozen ground search teams and rescuers from across the state and the FBI assisted.
