Drier air will continue to filter into central North Carolina Thursday behind a cold front that is south of the region.

Lower humidity will make for a cooler morning and a comfortably warm day on Thursday as morning lows drop into the 60s and afternoon highs will top out in the upper 80s across the region.

We’ll also get a break from those pesky afternoon thunderstorms.

Of course, it won’t last long and chance for a few afternoon storms will return to southeastern North Carolina Friday.

Then for the weekend showers and thunderstorms become much more likely as temperatures hold near normal and humidity levels are on the rise.
