ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira man found guilty of killing another man over an XBox was given the maximum penalty Friday.

Akeem Williams was sentenced to 25 years to life behind bars for the murder of Tiko Head.

In court Friday, Head's mother, Mary Jones, read an emotional statement to the court. She says she's left with so many unanswered questions and feels a part of herself is missing.

During the sentencing, the judge said he believed Williams had no remorse for his actions.

This was the second time Williams was on trial for the murder. The first ended in a hung jury.

"It's been a very long journey, but now that it's all over, I can say that we can move on. He will never be in our lives again, but he will never be forgotten," Jones said.

Williams was also sentenced to 15 years for criminal possession of a weapon. He will serve both sentences concurrently.
