Following his arrest for a multi-state crime spree, a Big Flats murder suspect was found dead in his cell at the Chemung County jail earlier this week.

The sheriff's office says Curtis Burrows committed suicide Tuesday. The Criminal Investigation Division is now looking into the incident.

Back in November, Burrows allegedly stole a woman's car, after attempting to kidnap her in Corning.

Investigators say he then forcibly entered a Big Flats home, where he shot and killed 60-year-old Timothy Webster and took his car.

Burrows was later located near his home in Mansfield, Pennsylvania, and arrested after a police pursuit.

Burrows was facing 13 counts, including first-degree murder.
