A man has been found dead in a submerged vehicle in the Chemung River.
The Sheriff's Office says the vehicle was spotted in the water around 7:20 this morning near the Wellsburg-Lowman boat launch. By the time crews arrived, everything but the trunk was under water.
72-year-old George Crowe of Elmira died after he was taken to the hospital.
Investigators are still trying to figure out how he ended up in the water. Anyone with information can call the sheriff's office at 607-737-2933.
