BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown is postponing winter parking restrictions along bus routes until December 1.

The seasonal rules were supposed to start earlier this month in case plows needed to clear roadways of snow.

Brown says long-term weather forecasting shows there's no snow expected in the near future.

"In some of our neighborhoods, we don't have a lot of off-street parking, so having the ability to park at a bus route is certainly very helpful and very convenient for a lot of our residents," said Brown.

The mayor also announced the city will once again offer free parking at metered spaces citywide on Black Friday.

He hopes the free parking will increase access to Buffalo retailers, and promote local businesses.
