ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man is dead and another is injured after a shooting on Terry Street in Rochester early Sunday morning.

Rochester police were called just before 5:30 a.m. for the report of shots fired.

Officers first on scene found two men — 31-year-old Reginal Peller and 31-year-old Mario Green, both of Rochester — suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where Peller died from his injuries. Green is still at the hospital and is expected to survive.

Rochester police went door to door down Brown Street interviewing neighbors and searching for leads. While combing through the neighborhood they noticed surveillance cameras installed on a nearby home. They're hoping the footage and any public help can lead to an arrest.

"We're talking to a number of people in the neighborhood. Certainly there were a number of things that were heard, we're trying to identify people who actually saw anything. We'd love for anyone who was in the area or saw anything to give us a call, Crimestoppers or 911 to speak with an officer," said Capt. Kevin Costello, Major Crimes Unit.

They say there are no suspects or a motive at this time.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
