APEX N.C. – Police in Apex have charged a man with murdering his wife.

Michael Maher, 44, is accused of murdering Nadia Maher, 38, in a home in the 2000 block of Walden Glade Run on Nov. 24.

When officers arrived they found Nadia, who had been shot. She died at the hospital a short time later.

Originally, police said the shooting was an accidental discharge.

Police now say the case is being treated as a domestic violence situation.

Michael Maher is scheduled to appear in court Friday afternoon.

Neighbor say the couple had four children.
