Cooper Busch, 4, from Chenango Bridge, was born with Down syndrome and diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia last November.

His spirit remains strong while he goes through treatments — living up to his nickname, "Super Cooper."

To help pay for medical costs, illustrator Russell Richardson created the book "Super Cooper Saves the Day."

Richardson is overwhelmed by its success, and says it supports Cooper in more ways than one.

"It raises awareness about Cooper's situation, and hopefully it inspires other people to use their creativity to volunteer and help out,” said Richardson.

The book is available on Amazon, and so far has raised more than $900 for the family.
