SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Central New Yorkers braved the snow and cold Saturday to honor those who were truly brave.

More than 300 wreaths were laid in Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Syracuse for "National Wreaths Across America Day."

The organization is committed to remembering the service and sacrifice of all veterans.

Syracuse was one of more than 1,200 other locations across the country taking part in the special ceremony.

A local funeral home has organized the event for the last two years.

"Every city, every town has veterans that should not be forgotten and we feel like it's a big honor. We are here because of them," says Joe Farone, WAA Syracuse organizer.

The Farone family says they hope next year's event is even bigger.
