JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. — Oakdale Mall has seen major retailers leave recently, but some smaller businesses are thriving.

Shop 607 sells the products of more than 26 small business owners from the greater Binghamton area.

The store provides a variety of items to choose from, from food to clothing to lotions.

The shop opened four years ago, initially for only two months at a time. But now, it has a permanent spot in the mall for its second year.

Customers say this unique store is a wonderful addition.

"I think a lot of people now are going to the malls for different stuff. They don't want the same as all the big shopping centers," said Gayle Molyno, customer.

The store also offers classes, including meditation and tote bag design.
