'The Voice' and country music star Blake Shelton will perform on August 17 at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open.

The tournament's director, John Karedes, says Shelton agreed to be on the property around 2 p.m. the afternoon of the performance. This comes after many people walked away from last year's concert upset because Bon Jovi was more than an hour late for the show.

Karedes calls last year the "perfect storm" to learn from, to make this the best concert in the region.

"We're looking forward to getting back to normal," Karedes said. "Golf is going to go 'til 6:30. It's going to be a beautiful summer night. We'll have some events going on before the concert starts at dusk, and it should be a great night."

This is the only scheduled Blake Shelton Concert this summer in upstate New York and northeastern Pennslyvania. Tickets will go on sale on March 28 at 11 a.m. on Ticketmaster.
