The two troopers who were injured during a crash on Interstate 90 earlier this month are now out of the hospital.

Troopers Brent Karow and Shane Swartz were helping a tow truck near Exit 8 before the crash happened.

Prosecutors believe the driver who hit them was drunk.  And while the driver faces charges, both Trooper Karow and Swartz have a long way to recovery.

Trooper Karow is a 6-year veteran out of the Guilderland barracks and Trooper Swartz is a 4-year veteran from the Brunswick barracks.

For those who want to help with their recovery efforts -- donate to the "Troopers PBA signal 30 Benefit Fund."  To donate online -- go to either signal30.org or nystpba.org. People can also mail in a check. They ask for people to include the names of Troopers Karrow and Swartz in the memo line of the check.
