The publishing company for several local newspapers in the Southern Tier is cutting nearly a hundred jobs.

Gannett has filed a WARN notice stating that 93 employees will be laid off in the coming months.

They're planning to close their printing facility in Johnson City.

The plant services the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin, Elmira Star-Gazette, and the Ithaca Journal.

Printing services will reportedly be moved to Rochester, where they also publish the Democrat and Chronicle.

The closure is scheduled to take effect on June 16.

In addition to the jobs at the Johnson City plant, one employee is being cut in Ithaca, and two others in Elmira.
