Gilligan's Island in Sherburne hopes to serve ice cream combined with beer or hard cider.

The restaurant already offers wine ice cream.

The state senate recently approved legislation that would allow the sale of ice cream made with beer and hard cider.

The bill would limit the percentage of alcohol to 5 percent.

And of course, you have to be 21 to buy.

The owners say these new products will bring excitement and pride to this small rural community.

"It's great." said Michael Lagoe, the Gilligan's Island restaurant owner & Gilligan's Ice Cream partner. "It's a great feeling to make a product that when you show people, they're just blown away, and they love it and they're all happy and smiling about it."

Gilligan's Island owners will know if the bill passes by next week.
