WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Police say a child was hit in the head this weekend by a falling bullet that had been fired into the air.

Police were called out on July 14 to a home on Patria Street.

Fortunately, Alondra Delgado's injuries were not serious but police are reminding people that firing a gun into the air in the city is not only illegal but also very dangerous.

Anyone who may have heard gunshots in the area around 5:45 p.m. on that date is asked to call police.
