OWEGO, N.Y. -- Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi traveled to the southwestern end of the 22nd Congressional District in Owego.

Neighbors got a chance to question the Democrat on a number of topics during the town hall.

Issues discussed were gun violence, the opioid epidemic and immigration. Brindisi says one of his top priorities is providing health care to everyone.

One visitor traveled 40 minutes to speak with Brindisi.

"It means a lot," said Eileen Ruggieri, a Windsor resident. "At first when I heard he was running, I was waiting to hear from him to come down here so that we could talk to him. "Now in the recent, there have been a number of opportunities, so he's extending himself in a district that is so big like this."

Brindisi is running against Republican incumbent Congresswoman Claudia Tenney.
