Evander Kane's been at the center of trade rumors for two years, but he fully expects the Buffalo Sabres to finally pull the trigger by the NHL deadline of 3p.m. Monday.

"I mean, yeah, if that's the answer you guys are waiting for me to say it. It's been talked about and it's been documented,” the Sabres winger said. “It's unfortunate, but it's the situation we're in and part of the business."

Kane was traded to the Sabres just over three years ago, but feels that was different because he was hurt at the time. He's not packing extra for the next two road games, but set to move otherwise.

"Definitely prepared for it mentally, heading in. There's so many things that can happen. It looks like we know what's going to happen, but... I think the hardest part is probably the unknown and I think that's in any job,” he said. “It's something you have to deal with as a professional, but you can't let it affect your on-ice performance."
