It’s an otherworldly scene: adults dressed as Ghostbusters looking to spread a little Christmas spirit.

The Buffalo Ghostbusters went on a shopping spree in Amherst to pick up new toys to be distributed through Toys for Tots.

The cosplay group has been collecting donations and buying toys for the past two years. This year, their proton packs and ghost traps are filled with a little extra green – but it’s not from Slimer.

They contacted Paul Feig, director of the 2016 movie.

“We informed him what we were doing and he said that he was going to match out, that he was going to give the same amount that we donated so he actually donated a huge chunk” of money to their efforts.

Donations of new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots can be made at any local Toys ‘R’ Us or Babies ‘R’ Us or go to www.toysfortots.org for other drop-off locations.
