The unemployment rate for people with disabilities in New York is nearly 70 percent, according to Our Ability, an organization that tries to bring together businesses and disabled people looking for jobs. Back in 2014, Governor Cuomo signed an executive order encouraging employers to adopt a formal policy for hiring people with disabilities. And while some workplaces are becoming more inclusive, advocates say more could be done with more funding from the state.
