Mark Dublino, 54, of Cheektowaga was found guilty Monday for attempting to murder his ex-girlfriend and her male friend, as well as assaulting her 77-year-old father in June 2016.

Jurors also found him guilty of several burglary-related charges, capping off more than a week of testimony and several pieces of evidence during trial.

"I'm extremely satisfied here. Obviously the jury heard the evidence, the jury saw the atrocious acts that he committed and they acted accordingly," said John Flynn, (D) Erie County district attorney.

Prosecutors say Dublino broke into her Williamsvillle house and smashed her head as well as her male friend's head several times with a sledgehammer, and then went to her parents' house and broke her dad's arm with a shovel.

“It's bizarre to say the least. And it's just disturbing. Whenever you have two different crime scenes, you had multiple victims here, you had multiple witnesses here. You had a lot of evidence," said Flynn.

Prior to the verdict, Dublino's attorney said during closing arguments his client had no intention of committing murder.

During the proceeding, Dublino made a couple of outbursts claiming his rights were being violated, forcing the judge and his own attorney to tell him to keep quiet.

"I have significant insight into his personality, and his makeup so to speak. And I found that as the trial progressed, his stress level increased to the point that I think he finally broke,” said Joseph Terranova, defense attorney.

Dublino was sent back to the county jail, and faces up to 75 years to life in prison when he's sentenced on March 12.
