An East Aurora man accused of violently attacking his girlfriend last month has been charged with attempted murder.

Christopher Giafaglione, 48, was arraigned on several charges including attempted murder, assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon in state Supreme Court Tuesday.

The Erie County DA's Office says he stabbed his girlfriend with a kitchen knife at a home on Oakwood Avenue back on December 12.

He's being held without bail, and an order of protection has been issued for the victim.

If convicted, Giafaglione faces up to 25 years in prison.
