BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo developer Nick Sinatra is hitting the road, selling his plan to repurpose the old Women and Children's Hospital.

Sinatra met with residents at the Buffalo Erie County Central Library Wednesday to lay out his plan to redevelop and repurpose the shuttered hospital on Bryant Street in the Elmwood Village.

Sinatra is partnering with Ellicott Development on the $100 million Elmwood Crossing project.

The plan calls for turning the eight-acre site into a grocery store, a hotel, a daycare center and more than 300 residential units.

Sinatra says while there has been some pushback on the plan from some groups, so far, most of the response has been positive.

"For the most part, the feedback has been fantastic. There's always going to be some naysayers, but we've been doing this engagement now for eight months and the project has changed substantially based on community feedback,  and I think the project now is in really good shape."

Sinatra says the project is far from a done deal.

If all goes as planned, the project could get underway by next year and be completed in three to four years.
