Access to technology isn't always easy, especially for those in rural areas or facing financial barriers. However, one organization is making a significant difference for youth in need.

Mason Anderson, a young aspiring technologist, dreams of a future working in technology. Grateful for the new laptops at his local Boys and Girls Club, he expressed his joy.

"All the other computers were more laggy, so everyone was complaining. Now everyone's happy because there is actually a good amount of computers," Anderson said.

After-school programs like the Boys and Girls Clubs are providing a space for homework and fun activities, easing the lives of children like Anderson.

The International Game Technology’s After-School Advantage Program plays a role in providing STEM education in digital learning centers, equipping students with skills for future careers. The laptop donations were made possible by the program.

IGT Account Development Manager Paul Stelmaszyk emphasized the impact of these donations on education in New York.

"It makes a difference in New York State. New York lottery funds go to aid education," he said. "It ties in very nicely with education as well and makes a difference with our youth."

With STEM jobs expected to grow by 11% over the next decade, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the donation provides learning resources and prepares youth for future opportunities.

"Because we have the laptops now, if we want to do more advanced things like 3D modeling, we could do it easier, because we wouldn't have to wait like an hour for something to happen," Anderson said.
