BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame is back in-person, much to the delight of this year's new inductees.

  • Sabres player/broadcaster Mike Robitaille and basketball coach John Beilein headline this year's class
  • After canceling last year's dinner due to the pandemic, the GBSHoF went back to their annual tradition this year of holding an induction dinner

"The Bills games and the Sabres games are one thing, but socially, to have so many sports fans together, is a big break for the area," says John Beilein, the longtime basketball coach from Burt, NY. "Sports is a fabric of our life. We just lived it. So many people in this Hall of Fame are heroes of mine. I have a great attitude of gratitude about it. It's wonderful."

Along with Beilein, the following people comprise of this year's Hall of Fame class:

Mike Robitaille - Sabres Defenseman/Broadcaster

Kyle Williams - Buffalo Bills Defensive Tackle

John Butler - Buffalo Bills GM and Vice President

Ron Moscati - Sports Photographer

Angela Consiglio - Athlete from Amherst HS

William Russell - Youth Hockey and Little League Founder/Coach/Director

Deborah Dourlain - Swimmer/Coach/Official from Orchard Park

Lamar Smith - All-American Sprinter from Bennett HS

Gerry Gentner - 3-time State Champion Softball Coach at Williamsville South

Pete Tonsoline - Multisport High School coach and administrator

Julie Gentner Murphy - Multisport athlete at Williamsville South
