The United States Military Academy at West Point is preparing for the incoming Class of 2022 with some help from volunteers.

Nearly 300 volunteers were at West Point Friday so cadets could prepare for Reception Day.

The cadets practiced directing volunteers, who took on the roles of the incoming class and were instructed on proper stances and following instructions.

Those who are familiar with R-Day say there's always rough patches, but this was a good run through.

"It's like going to be 100 degrees out on Monday. So obviously that's something that we  have to continue to plan for and think through to make sure everything works well. But overall yes, a success, and it's always awesome to have the community come out as well and be part of the process," said Captain Jamin Williamson.

West Point cadets will welcome the Class of 2022 on Monday, featuring more than 1,200 young men and women.
