American immigration policy is changing under President Trump, with policies like the travel ban and "zero tolerance" for families crossing the border from Mexico, which lead to children being separated from their parents.

But children and families coming to the U-S from Central America to seek asylum is not new.

And it's usually because of economic and political conditions in their home countries.
