NORTH SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Rian Rodriguez, the soccer coach taken into custody along with a Florida teenager after a nationwide search, was apparently in no hurry to leave Central New York. He had, in fact, applied for a marketing job in North Syracuse.

Ryan McManus, the CEO and founder of Prime Time Marketing LLC, tells Spectrum News they did interview Rodriguez, and his background check came out clean, but that's as far as it went.

Rodriguez was not offered a job, and was arrested later on December 1 in a Salina parking lot. Troopers said Caitlyn Frisina, who was since reunited with her family, was with him.

McManus says Rodriguez did have a girl in the car with him. He said Rodriguez said he had just moved from Florida, and he even asked about a job for her as well.

Frisina was reported missing on November 26 by her family in Fort White, Florida, about 1,000 miles to the south of Syracuse.

Rodriguez remains at the Onondaga County Justice Center, where within two weeks, authorities from Florida will pick him up, and the case will proceed in that state.
