If you're looking for a firework show Saturday night, LaFayette still plans to light up the sky.

It’s the only fireworks display in Onondaga County, since many have been canceled due to the pandemic.

Cars will park in the open fields where the LaFayette Apple Festival takes place.

Organizers say they will be spaced more than 6 feet apart, and those who leave their areas must wear a mask.

There will be a band and food trucks.

And organizers say they’re excited to bring residents together in a safe way.

“I’m concerned we kind of lost our sense of community here a little bit and I’m a big community guy," said Onondaga County Legislature Chairman David Knapp. "So, we thought this would be a great way where we could do it safely and let folks get out as a family.”

If you plan on going, you should arrive early since only the first 500 vehicles will be let in.

They’ll start parking cars at 6:30 p.m.
