A military training video — taken during a live-fire exercise — is being called dangerous by 10th Mountain Division officials. And there's concern that no one stopped the exercise.

Those officials also confirm that the soldiers involved are from the 10th Mountain Division, although there is no confirmation yet if the soldiers are stationed on Fort Drum or where the exercise happened.

The video has now been widely circulating on the internet. It takes place in what's known as a shoot house, which is a shooting range where military personnel use live ammunition. Shoot houses typically replicate enemy homes and commercial and industrial spaces soldiers may see on deployment.

While no one was injured — or worse — during the session, the video clearly shows soldiers pointing their weapons at each other instead of at the ground when they are moving, which is safety protocol.

10th Mountain Division leadership said the training session is absolutely unacceptable and investigations are underway.

"Make no mistake. That is not the 10th Mountain Division standard. It will never be the 10th Mountain Division standard," said 10th Mountain Division Command Sgt. Major Mario Terenas. "This took place some time ago, it's going on a few months. We are running it down to the ground. We will fix it. I guarantee you. I will fix it."

Also in the video, you can see training leaders watching from above. Military.com said that allows the leaders to observe the training and halt any scenarios that could be unsafe. This session was not stopped.
