A Rome woman has been charged with DWI under Leandra's Law, after she was found passed out behind the wheel with her two children in the back seat of the car.

Rome police say they found 28-year-old Brittany Bean asleep in her car at the intersection of West Willet Street at Lyons Ave Sunday morning around 3:30 a.m.

They say her 9-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter were with her at the time.

Bean was arrested and charged with DUI, due to drugs, and DWI under Leandra's Law for having children in the car, as well as aggravated unlicensed operation.

Leandra's Law was passed in 2009 making it a felony to drive drunk with children in the car.
