The Jefferson County Drug Task Force is asking for more resources to deal with the increase of weapons and drug-related crimes.

In 2017, 26 meth labs were found by investigators in 2017.

29 guns were also seized last year, which is nearly a 500% increase from previous years.

Heroin and crack cocaine are the top two drugs on the streets.

Investigators said the problem has gotten worse over the years.

Officials said they're also looking to add another detective and patrol officer to the department.
