Anglers headed to local waterways for the first day of trout season.

Some could be seen casting their lines at Ninemile Creek in Marcellus Park Sunday.

One woman was out to catch her Easter dinner.

Anglers say the cold weather is actually better because the fish don't move around as much and are easier to catch.

Sunday also marked the start of fishing for salmon and striped bass.

Remember, anyone 16 or older must have a fishing license.
