UTICA, N.Y. -- Many attended the calling hours of a Schuyler firefighter and EMS Chief on Tuesday.
Anthony "Pags" Pagliaro died last Wednesday after a five-year battle with colon cancer.
He was 36-years-old.
Pagliaro joined the Schuyler Volunteer Fire Company in 2002, later being voted EMS Chief.
He was on the Believe 271 Foundation's Board, was their first donation recipient, and pushed for a Cancer Bill benefitting volunteer firefighters who have cancer.
He also helped teach cancer education programs to firefighters in Herkimer and Oneida Counties.
Pagliaro leaves behind a wife and three-children.
"Everything he did he put 200-percent into. Whether it had anything to do with the firehouse, the ambulance, and when it came to his family he put in 1,000-percent," said Schuyler Volunteer Fire Company Chief John Scholl.
A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Utica.
