ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Spray parks in the City of Rochester are open for the season. May residents took advantage during Wednesday's mid-summer like heat. The city has six spray parks at various locations.

"It's great, it's fantastic. I encourage a lot of people to come out here, to bring their kids whenever they don't work or they have time, just come out here," said Shaman Jones of Rochester.

The city also has three smaller locations for children six and under at MLK Park, Fourth and Peck Park and the Troup Street Playground.

The city says that the spray parks are a great place for neighborhoods to gather and for kids to make new friends.

The spray parks are open seven days per week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and close for the season on Labor Day.
