UTICA, N.Y. -- A warm and sunny day for hundreds of kids at the Boilermaker Youth Olympics.

Children played basketball, Connect Four, and went through an obstacle course at Proctor Park in Utica.

It's part of an effort to keep kids moving.

"Kids like I said, are from different agencies, and hopefully they get active and not stay in the building all summer long. They get out and do different things like the Zoo or the pools or events like this," said Utica Recreation Director Lonnie Jenkins.

In true Olympic spirit, there was an awards ceremony at the end where children won medals and gift certificates.
