Watertown officially has a new city manager, but it's not a familiar face.

Rick Finn, was appointed to the Position on Friday during a Press Conference where city council announced the news.

Finn is not from the area, but he is very familiar with Watertown.

His son served on Fort Drum and his granddaughter was born at Samaritan Medical Center.

Finn has served as a city manager in five other cities across the United States, which is one of the reasons he was chosen for the position.

"It's a community that is very similar in many cities that I have worked for in the past,” said Finn. “Confronted with a lot of the same issues and challenges that we have here in Watertown."

Finn's first day in office is on July 30th.
