It was a beautiful start to the Lewis County Fair, which kicked off Tuesday.

Despite Monday night's storm in the North Country, no damage was reported at the fairgrounds.

This marks the 198th year of the Lewis County Fair, and more than 10,000 people are expected to come out.

Organizers say there are tons of rides, foods and games. But the most important part is learning about agriculture in Lewis County.

"We're a true county fair and we're based on agriculture,” said President of the Lewis County Fair Doug Hanno. “Lewis County is still a big agricultural county. You can see the cows, you can see the horses, and you can see the small animals. It has a huge exhibit, that's what makes it special."

The fair will continue throughout the week, wrapping up on Sunday.
