A Tompkins County man is dead following a shooting early Saturday morning.
It happened around 1:30 a.m. at a home on Shaffer Road in the town of Newfield. The Tompkins County Sheriff's Office said Dejour Xavier Gandy, 29, was found dead inside the home.
According to a witness, three masked suspects entered the home and confronted Gandy with guns drawn. Witnesses say one of the suspects shot the victim before fleeing the scene.
Investigators believe the incident was a targeted attack that does not pose a threat to the public.
