The Owego VFW is remmbering those who lost their lives 78 years ago.

Four people from Owego survived the attack on Pearl Harbor. The town's last living survivor just passed away earlier this year.

Friends and family members shared stories of their loved ones at a ceremony on Saturday.

“It means a lot, keeping the memory of my dad and all the veterans alive. Everybody’s got to remember that. Why we’re a free country and what they’ve sacrificed for us," said Jody Tatich, Daughter of Deceased Survivor.

A dozen remaining survivors of the attack also gathered in Hawaii for a remembrance ceremony.
