Winterfest is in full swing, so if you’re looking for something to do around town, this is it.

The activities started Thursday and Sunday's fun included beer tasting and a chili cook-off bringing dozens of visitors to Downtown Syracuse.

It’s a chance to mingle, and get a taste of various chilis different restaurants in the area offer.

The winner gets a prize, but those working behind the scenes to make this possible said it's about more than winning a prize.

"It's not necessarily about the monetary value, it's about gaining a new customer and really just showing people what we are about,” said Katie Beckette, the general manager of Clinton Street Pub.

Next weekend for Winterfest will be the Bloody Mary Contest, a crowd favorite.

The festivities will continue until March 23.

Tickets are $5 apiece for consumers and so far 10 businesses are participating.
