As the coronavirus pandemic continues to impact the country, social distancing parades have become a popular way to celebrate with loved ones.

On Tuesday, one family was able to surprise their family member with one.

"The idea was kind of just drive by my 91-year-old mother-in-law's house, have her out on the porch and have her just waving along, just to show some support for her,” said Douglas Flanagan.

Tuesday’s parade was shared by Flanagan on YouTube. It was for Alma Entwistle, who’s typically in Florida for the winter. But this year, because of the continued spread of the virus, she had to return home early.

"She's been back early from Florida, since more than two weeks ago, been doing the whole social distancing thing and isolating thing,” said Flanagan.

It was a chance for her family to give her a surprise hello.

"She had no idea, and none of us really knew how, it's a huge family. She had 10 children, there's dozens and dozens of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren. It's a huge family, a big farming community,” Flanagan said.

And it’s safe to say, she was grateful for the surprise.

"I think it was absolutely beautiful. I have such a wonderful family. I couldn't be more blessed,” Entwistle said in the video.
