The annual Syracuse Auto Expo is a big event in our area many look forward to every February. However this year, the event, which helps numerous charities, has been rescheduled for the fall.

The Expo is always a great way to see what's in the market as for new vehicles. The annual Charity Preview is also a big event that opens the expo every year and helps numerous non-profits in our area.

As many are aware, because of the pandemic and the use of the OnCenter, those events were postponed and scheduled for September 22 - 26.

Members of the Auto Dealers Association said they're excited the show wasn't canceled and they can offer the same great events in the fall.

Last year, the charity preview raised more than $316,000 for local non-profit groups. Since these events won't take place until the fall, you're asked to consider donating to the charities beforehand.

"Perhaps they might consider those organizations that they normally would support by going to the charity preview, perhaps they would like to reach into their wallet and support those organizations through a direct contribution, we would encourage folks to do that," said SADA Board of Directors member Jim Barr.

The Syracuse Auto Expo first debuted in 1907 and is one of the five oldest shows in the country. SADA officials said the only year that was missed was in 1945 due to World War II.
