Democrats on the Solvay Village Board called an emergency meeting Wednesday night to vote on two resolutions.

The first is to allow the county comptroller to audit the village's finances, including the electric department which is owned by the village.

The second is another audit, but this time by the state comptroller's office.

Both resolutions passed down party lines, with Democrats in favor and Republicans against it. One of the concerns brought up was the cost of the audits.

The village of Solvay had its annual audit of the village and Solvay Electric back in May.
